Merry Christmas!

It was a busy morning for the Ellis Movers volunteer team at the 14th Annual Squamish Triathlon. Our job hasn’t changed since the first year we started volunteering for the triathlon race. We loaded the racing gears and the bicycles of the athletes onto our moving trucks at the Don Ross Secondary, which is the race center, then drove and offloaded at Alice Lake, where the race starts.

One of Ellis movers’ partners in supporting causes in our community is the Sea to Sky Community Society.

Time to time we deal with good quality furniture that becomes redundant as the owners move to a new home. Thanks to the Community Society, we could provide much needed help for a single mother in Squamish by donating furniture for her kitchen, dining- and bedroom.

The results are in! Ellis Movers was ranked among the highest in BC! The Ministry of Citizens’ Service satisfaction surveys for 2009 and 2010 have been compiled and Ellis received top marks!

We are very proud to have sponsored Squamish athlete Lauren Rosser in the international mountain bike circuit. For Xmas, Lauren sent us a fabulous autographed photo to commemorate winning the junior women’s world downhill mountain biking championship title in Quebec!

Lauren has had an excellent season. Some of her outstanding wins include bronze and silver medals in Canadian Cross Country national races. She was also selected to represent Canada at the world championship in Switzerland and Quebec. Competing for the first time at the world championship level, Lauren placed 11th. Pretty amazing results for a 16 year old athlete competing with 17 and 18 year olds! After winning two Canadian national titles for downhill racing, she also took home the Downhill World Champion title at Mount St. Anne Quebec.

We look forward to continued support of this extraordinary young athlete from Squamish, our home town! Congratulations Lauren!

Congratulations to Ellis Moving’s Account Manager, David Martin for the upcoming publication of his new children’s book “Eggy”. Eggy is the seventh book in David’s successful Simple Fun Storytime Series.

Come out and meet David at his book signing December 4th, 1 PM through 5 PM. This event is part of the Save-on-Food series “A Taste of Tilford”.

At Ellis Moving, we believe in the power of community! Since 1998, we have sponsored the annual Squamish Triathlon and every year, we look forward to ensuring this fantastic local event runs smoothly and efficiently.
